Welcome 2021!
2020 was a rough year for everyone. However, The Logan Strong Foundation knew that this year our mission was more important than ever. We needed to adapt to the climate and still support those who needed us.
The year was definitely a busy one! First and foremost we would like to thank all of our supporters who supported our cause through the year. The Logan Strong Foundation was able to reach out and touch so many people during the last 12 months and all because of our donors.
Our fundraising events included a March Madness style Happy Hour, that although was cut short from COVID at the shutdowns, because of supporters like you, we made it through each week.
In April we did something different, teamed up with Season’s Catering and fed the Front Line Workers at Albany Med for three days. We followed this up a few weeks later and did pizza and wings for the overnight crew as well.
In May, our Cinco de Mayo virtual Happy Hour raised enough funds through a live auction and donations to make 24 Comfort and Care Kits to deliver to the parents of children at the Melodies Center. In May we also hosted a car disinfectant treatment with our great generous partners at PuroClean.
Throughout the summer, The Logan Strong Foundation was able to purchase ALL the items on the Melodies Center Wish List for the department. Our Family Outreach was able to help close to 24 families with various needs.
In the fall, we donated thousands of dollars of gift cards to Albany Medical Center Melodies Center through donations in lieu of birthday gifts for Logan. As always, the outpour of support completely humbled us.
A big smile was brought to the children’s faces as dozens of McDonald’s Happy Meals were delivered throughout the department. There is nothing like Mc Donald’s French Fries!
The Board took advantage of the little bit of downtime and did research on new grants and did several submissions. In the Spring, the foundation, along with many area residents, put on their masks and wrote out their reasoning for wearing their mask. The photos together created a video and it was submitted to the New York I Wear My Mask for contest for the new commercial. We also applied for more grants than we had in the past, as we started to learn whatelse is available.
The board acted quickly in the beginning of the year and moved the 3rd Annual Logan Strong Foundation Outing to September, for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and went created a Virtual Tournament. Participants could play 9 holes, 18 holes or even mini golf! The event still raised enough funds to continue to keep us on track for the year.
We closed up the year with sending Pizza and Salad to the Front Line staff at the Melodies Center in Albany Med. Over the span of a few days, we were sure to cover everyone!
As the year came to a close, the Board at The Logan Strong Foundation realized how fortunate they are to have such supportive, dedicated donors. We look forward to what 2021 will bring us and how we can continue to stay true to our Mission.
Thank you again for all that you do. The children and families are so appreciative of that additional line of support.
Our next newsletter will announce our 4th Annual Logan Strong Gold Tournament and some of the other events that we have planned for the year. And remember, volunteers and board members are always welcome. Please reach out to us to find out more information.
From our family to yours, wishing you a year full of blessings, peace and happiness.
